About AutomatizaLab

My name is Falcon. I work every day with automation systems — sensors, controllers, relays, industrial protocols — and that work is, literally, the subject of this site.

HidroLab came first, applying that same engineering mindset to residential irrigation: evaluating products by the same standard I'd apply to any component of an automation system, instead of generic lists reshuffled from other generic lists. AutomatizaLab is the other half of that work — the rest of the automation and control hardware that didn't fit on an irrigation site: WiFi plugs and relays for smart homes, and variable frequency drives, RS485/Modbus gateways, and other control hardware for B2B industrial projects.

Why split the two sites

Someone looking for a Tuya plug for their home and someone looking for a variable frequency drive for a workshop are different buyers with different questions. Mixing everything into one site dilutes the usefulness for both. That's why AutomatizaLab has its own catalog, its own domain, and its own editorial criteria — while sharing the same underlying philosophy as HidroLab.

What you'll find here

  • A monthly ranking of the best-selling automation and control products on Amazon, updated with real sales data.
  • Honest technical notes on every product — we don't rewrite the manufacturer's listing, we say how well (or poorly) it actually works, which ecosystem it locks you into, or what limitation isn't clear from the title.
  • Decision guides both for someone building their first smart-home project and for someone who needs to correctly size a VFD or a Modbus gateway for a plant.

How the site is funded

AutomatizaLab participates in the Amazon Associates Program. This means some product links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This doesn't affect which products we recommend or how we evaluate them — the ranking is based on real sales data, not on which product pays the highest commission.
